150 - 41 - 4

• 150 combined victories by champions using Babolat strings and racquets

• 41 victories in major tournaments over 30 years of Babolat racquets, celebrated in 2024

• Carlos' 4th Grand Slam victory with his Babolat Pure Aero 98 racquet at only 21 years old

"When one of our champions wins, our entire team wins through them and takes pride in contributing to the players' performance" said Eric Babolat, President of Babolat.

With his Babolat Pure Aero 98, Carlos Alcaraz clinched his 4th Grand Slam title by retaining his trophy at Wimbledon, where the brand is the official partner and racquet service. The Spaniard secured Babolat's 41st major tournament victory in thirty years of racquet production, adding to the more than 150 titles achieved with Babolat strings, first invented by the brand in 1875.

As Babolat celebrates the 30th anniversary of the launch of its racquets this year, Carlos Alcaraz continues the brand's winning tradition by securing his second consecutive Wimbledon title with his Pure Aero 98, the second Major title this season after his victory on the clay courts of Roland-Garros, and his fourth Grand Slam title overall, including the 2022 US Open. Carlos Alcaraz once again impressed on the London grass, where his Pure Aero 98 racquet, equipped with Babolat RPM Team strings, performed brilliantly.

30 years of racquet success and a 41st singles victory in a Major for Babolat. This figure underscores Babolat's leadership in the tennis market, as the inventor of the first tennis string in 1875, two years before the inaugural Wimbledon. For the brand, Carlos Alcaraz's second consecutive title in London is the result of ten years of work and collaboration with the inspiring Spanish athlete, who became the youngest player in history to reach the world number one ranking in September 2022 at 19 years and four months old. The champion has recently extended his contract with Babolat until 2030.

With this title, Carlos Alcaraz joins the exclusive group of players (6 in total) who have successfully defended their Wimbledon title in the last 50 years. He also enters the prestigious circle, alongside legends like Rafael Nadal, of six players who have won Grand Slam titles in both Paris and London in the same year. These achievements add further accolades to his already incredible career, having become the youngest player in early June in Paris to win a Grand Slam on three different surfaces (hardcourt, grass, clay). It's a remarkable success story for Babolat, which has collaborated with numerous champions and maintained a winning culture across eras and playing styles with its unique expertise. Carlos Moya was the first player to win a Major with a Babolat racquet in Paris in 1998, laying the foundation for many others to follow.

For Babolat, Carlos Alcaraz's victory at Wimbledon marks the 28th Grand Slam singles title won with the Pure Aero racquet, used by Rafael Nadal, Francesca Schiavone, and Caroline Wozniacki. Eleven other major trophies have been earned with the Pure Drive, including victories by Carlos Moya, Li Na, Kim Clijsters, Garbine Muguruza, and Sofia Kenin. Additionally, two victories belong to the Pure Strike with Sam Stosur using the Pure Control and Dominic Thiem with the Pure Strike during his 2020 US Open triumph.

This victory holds deep symbolism for Babolat, the pioneering tennis brand, at Wimbledon, the oldest tennis tournament in the world. The collaboration between the Lyon-based brand and the London Grand Slam, both dedicated to innovation, encompasses 150 years of tennis history. Their partnership intensified in 2013 when Babolat became the official supplier of racquets, strings, shoes, bags, and accessories for Wimbledon. Since 2022, Babolat has also been the official racquet service of the Championships, managed by an international team of technicians who prepare racquets for players across all events, including wheelchair tennis, adhering strictly to athletes' preferences and specifications.
